Nitrogen Control Unit - NCU.V2

The BAUER Nitrogen Control Unit can adapt any injection molding machine, regardless of make or model, for use with the gas assist process.

BAUER Nitrogen Control Units (NCU.V2) regulate individual pressure profiles of fast acting, high pressure regulators for precise control of the gas assist process.

Operator Interface
Process programming and monitoring are accomplished through a 10.4-inch color touchscreen interface. An embedded 32-bit RISC processing chip provides real-time input/output access and instant response to touch operations. On-screen monitoring includes real-time process pressure curves with bar graphs, individual process pressure gauges, inlet pressure meter and safety interlock confirmation.

Programmable Functions
The operator interface allows real-time access to all programmable functions including gas injection set points of time, pressure, ramp and start delay. These unique pressure profiles may be assigned filenames and saved through a pop-up alpha/numeric keypad. Automatic purge cycle set points are programmed to reduce gas pin maintenance and optimize production.

Molding Machine Interface
Interface for the BAUER Gas Assist System is achieved through a 24-pin industrial connector supporting full safety interlocks. The connector includes contacts for cycle start, remote cycle kill, safety interlocks for mold close, purge guard and operator gate, channel enable and digital outputs.

BAUER Vent Control Valve® (VCV)
The patented pending BAUER Vent Control Valve® virtually eliminates maintenance of the fast acting, high pressure regulators in the NCU.V2. All gases and volatiles from mold are diverted to atmosphere before they reach the regulators, removing the contaminants that cause failures.

BAUER View®
BAUER View®, the enhanced software package available FREE to NCU.V2 customers, includes remote monitoring of the gas assist process, real-time graphic overlay of active profiles and expanded recipe storage.

Mounting Options
Mounting options include a mobile stand with casters (shown), machine mounted swing arm or table top stand.
