Piston Velocity

Piston velocity (in m/s) is calculated using the following formula:

S × N		S = piston displacement (in mm)
30000		N = rounds per minute (in RPM)

Low piston velocities guarantee reliable operation. BAUER compressors operate with mean piston velocities of 2 - 5 m/s (standard car engines operate at 7 - 12 m/s).
