Pressure Maintaining Valves

The pressure maintaining valve remains shut at low pressures and opens once the pressure reaches a certain level (for high pressure compressors these valves are usually set to 100 bar). Hence, the volume of compressed air flowing into the filter system is kept low. For example, if the pressure doubles, the volume of a specific amount of air is halved. The low volume ensures that the speed of the air is reduced, allowing more intensive purification.

BAUER filter units have an integrated pressure maintaining valve built in as standard. Furthermore, the pressure-maintaining valve allows pressure to build up rapidly. This ensures that the final stage, free piston is quickly synchronised with the other stages.

The BAUER pressure maintaining valve integrates a » non-return valve after the final separator. This ensures that the pressure build-up in the compressor and the filter system occurs rapidly, even when the pressure in the cylinder or storage system is extremely low.
